Biography

Ellen Fox is recording secretary of the International Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Ellen was initiated into her mother‘s chapter as a third generation P.E.O. in Winchester, Virginia, in 1982, and has been a member of five local chapters in four states, including Chapters AM and AS in Virginia, Chapter F in Rhode Island, Chapter CE in Pennsylvania and Chapter R, North Carolina. She has served in all local chapter offices, on many state committees and as convention chair for the Northeast District in 1997. Career moves and company mergers gave Ellen and her husband, Rick, the opportunity to move from state to state, and she was grateful that a P.E.O. sister was always there to greet them shortly after the moving van pulled away. She has been a member of Chapter R, North Carolina, since 2005.

Ellen grew up in Virginia, and has a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Economics from the University of Richmond. Ellen was a Certified Public Accountant and enjoyed a long career as a finance executive in various roles in both the financial services and manufacturing industries. She retired after 23 years at Bank of America in 2017.

Ellen presided at the 2019 North Carolina State Convention with the theme, “P.E.O. A Legacy of Love in a Gift from the Heart”. Ellen’s mother, Betty Jackson, and sister, Ann Huddleston, both served as presidents of their respective state chapters. Ellen’s daughter, Katie, and niece, Jill, are also P.E.O. sisters in Georgia and Virginia. Ellen was appointed to the International Audit and Finance Committee at the Convention of International Chapter in 2019 and is currently serving as chair.

Ellen is an avid knitter and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, playing golf, traveling, boating and listening to music. In addition to P.E.O., Ellen volunteers her time to the Finance Committee of the Myers Park United Methodist Church and is the Treasurer of the Ballantyne Country Club Women’s Golf Association.
