Maria Baseggio, president of International Chapter, was born and raised in Lawrence, Indiana. She graduated from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in business with specialization in education. She taught high school business subjects in Indianapolis before pursuing a career in the corporate world. Currently, Maria is president of her strategic marketing consulting firm, SAGE Insights, and is an active member of the executive community in Philadelphia.

Maria was introduced to P.E.O. by her aunt, Shirley Lister, Past President Pennsylvania State Chapter, in 1987. She is currently a member of Chapter CE, Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Sharing P.E.O. with her Aunt Shirley and her cousin, Amy Lister Cavanaugh, Chapter DN, Indiana, is very special to Maria. She treasures visits with her sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Mick Hauck, and with her godchildren, Hannah and Owen Cavanaugh.

Maria lives in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania; she is an active participant in Saint Helena’s Roman Catholic Church and enjoys golf, reading and gardening.

Maria is inspired by the commitment to P.E.O., at every level of the Sisterhood, which produces a positive impact on women’s lives around the world. She’s grateful for the privilege of serving as president of the P.E.O. Sisterhood with such a dedicated leadership team and Maria is confident their progressive actions will balance the interests of today’s women with our heritage, both, so valued by our members.

Beth Ledbetter, president of International Chapter, was born in Jacksboro, Texas. Her P.E.O. journey began 38 years ago in Chadron, Nebraska. In 1978, Beth, her husband Howard and their three sons moved to Johnson City, Tennessee. There, Beth became a charter member of Chapter AE by transfer and the chapter’s first recording secretary.

Beth attended East Tennessee State University as a nontraditional student to finish a B.A. degree. Shortly after graduating she opened N. Beth Ledbetter & Associates, a successful real estate appraisal business.

Beth was president of Tennessee State Chapter in 2000-2001 and served a six-year term on the board of the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE) before being elected to the Executive Board of International Chapter in 2007.

Beth is an active member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City. She is past President of the Holston Conference Board of Trustees (1996-98) after several years as a board member. Beth plays the piano for her own amusement when it’s time to take a break from the computer.

Howard Ledbetter, Ed.D. was an educator and administrator prior to his retirement. He is Beth’s greatest supporter and advisor. Beth is proud of her family: Bill, Deborah (WG, Roseville, California), Kate, Mike, and Abby, Roseville, California; David, grandson Nicholas, Sacramento, California; Marcus, Jennifer (AQ, Johnson City, Tennessee) Tuck, Sam, and Ellie, Johnson City, Tennessee.

Beth says, “Becoming involved in P.E.O. has been a huge education for me and an opportunity to grow in so many ways. I believe in what I promised—what we all promised—to devote a due share of our interest and energy to the Sisterhood.”

Beth is dedicated to our P.E.O. values and projects. Through her dignity of character, leadership and humble graciousness we will continue to expand our outreach to future women.
