P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) was founded on January 21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Today, P.E.O. has grown from that small membership of seven to more than 225,000 members in chapters in the United States and Canada. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is passionate about its mission: promoting educational opportunities for women. Our sisterhood proudly makes a difference in women's lives with six philanthropies that include ownership of Cottey College, an independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women, and five other philanthropies that provide higher educational assistance which include the P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund, P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund, P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, P.E.O. Scholar Awards, and P.E.O. STAR Scholarship.

Digital Communication Specialist

The P.E.O. Executive Office in Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking applicants for the Digital Communication Specialist position. This regular, full-time position is responsible for managing all digital communications for the organization focusing on social media, videos and websites.

Cottey College Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty

Cottey College is seeking applicants for Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty. Reporting to the President, Dr. Jann Weitzel, and a member of the President's Council, the VPAA/DoF serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for the strategic leadership of all academic matters of the College.
